Bespoke software

From a practical problem to an agreed solution.

Tell us what your organisation needs to improve. We work through the users, workflow and constraints before agreeing what to build.

Know what each stage is for.

The detail depends on your project. This is our approach to shaping the work; the scope, deliverables, price and timing are agreed for each engagement.

  1. Understand the need

We discuss the problem, users, current workflow and constraints, including whether existing software could help.

Stage output: A clarified brief, assumptions and questions to resolve.

  2. Agree scope and success

We establish priorities, boundaries and observable acceptance criteria before committing to a build.

Stage output: An agreed scope and a shared definition of a useful result.

  3. Review the design

We consider the journey, accessibility, information and permissions, then review the proposed experience.

Stage output: Reviewed flows and designs appropriate to the engagement.

  4. Build and verify

Changes are implemented and checked against the agreed requirements, with review of defects and remaining limitations.

Stage output: A tested implementation and recorded acceptance evidence.

  5. Handover and support

Release, documentation, ownership and ongoing responsibilities are agreed for the particular engagement.

Stage output: A clear handover and agreed support arrangements.

You do not need a technical specification.

Describe what happens today, who is involved and what would make the work better. You can use our short enquiry or add a more detailed project brief. ?Not sure yet? is a useful starting point.

Clear decisions before commitment.

An initial enquiry does not authorise development or commit either party to cost or delivery dates. We clarify the next step with you, including the scope and terms of any proposed work.
